Thurleigh Airfield Meet – 30th August 2026
Community Coordinator Antony organised a meet-up and visit to the Thurleigh 306th Bombardment Group Museum on a lovely sunny Sunday morning in August.
Four fabulous members arrived in their Figaros, who were warmly welcomed by Peter, a volunteer at the museum. Unfortunately, Peter’s own Figaro wasn’t able to join us, having broken down beforehand.
The museum is a real gem and a fitting tribute to the more than 800 aircrew who lost their lives while flying missions from this airfield during the Second World War.
Although relatively small, it is packed with fascinating artefacts, photographs, and personal stories that bring the history of the period to life. It is certainly well worth a visit.
After exploring the museum and sharing plenty of Figgy chat, we all enjoyed a fabulous morning together.
Many thanks to Antony for organising another enjoyable Figaro meet.
