German Community Chapter 5th Meeting – 10th to 12th July 2026

July 2026 saw the 5^th meeting of the German Community Chapter, as arranged by Community Chapter Coordinator, Jörg Middendorf. Encompassing Holzminden, the Weserbergland and a visit to Europe’s largest classic car museum, Jörg tells us all about the weekend.

“The German Community Chapter’s 5^th Figaro Meeting took place this year from 10^th to 12^th July in Holzminden. In glorious weather, we met in the beer garden by the River Weser and got our gathering off to a relaxed start.

On Saturday 11^th July, we set off for the Weserbergland. First to the Köterberg (actually a motorbike meeting spot with a stunning view over the region), then to Lake Schieder. We continued on to the beautiful Hämelschenburg Castle, which is still inhabited by the castle’s owners. On our return, we headed straight to the open-air swimming pool in Holzminden, where we were able to cool off after a tour of around 100 km.

On Sunday 12^th July, we headed to the PS Speicher (an old granary, hence the name), Europe’s largest classic car museum ( https://www.ps-speicher.de/). We were able to park our nine Figaros together right on the museum’s forecourt, with no other cars around us, so the museum immediately gained another attraction. Inside the museum, we were given a brief history of civilisation illustrated through the history of the automobile. From Daimler and Benz right up to the Figaro (although the tour guide needed a bit of a refresher from us regarding the Figaro!)

It was a wonderfully relaxed get-together and two brilliant tours, so we’re already looking forward to the next one!”
