Drive Out Pett Level to The Pilot Dungeness – 19th April 2026

Figaro Owners were in for a treat in glorious weather with a trip from Pett Level to Dungeness!

South East England Chapter Coordinator Carla reports in on the weekend’s Drive Out…

The weather was kind to us today for our trip from Pett Level Beach. We went in convoy to the tiny quaint town of Winchelsea – apparently it IS a town, not a village as it has its own Mayor as we were advised by a friendly neighbour who came out to admire the Figaros.

We went to visit Spike Milligan’s grave which famously has ‘I told you I was ill’ inscribed on it in Gaelic. We then toured the lovely little town before driving on through Rye, Camber and Lydd Village before going on to the eerie shingled Dungeness Private Estate.

Here, we saw David Jarman’s famous Prospect Cottage then parked up by the old lighthouse where some of us braved all the steps to the top for an amazing view out to sea, along the coast and over our little Figgys.

We then went to the Pilot Inn for fabulous grub and a good chinwag.

Thank you everyone who came along. I hope you enjoyed the day.
