Seats- Upholstery restoration seat kits

Without question, the leather seats in your Figaro are one of the most luxurious elements of your car. However, at the age of 30, they may be looking a bit tired and in need of some much-needed TLC. Regular ‘feeding’ the leather with conditioner can improve the look in the short term and stop them drying out, however, years and years of wear and tear can take their toll and no amount of cleaning will bring them back to what it looked like when the car was first manufactured. But there is a way to improve the look and make them look so much better. The club works with The Leather Repair Company who have developed a colour match dye. They produce a DIY kit allowing you to carry out the work in your garage or house. The kit comes in two sizes, small and medium (, and contains everything you need to complete the restoration.

By cleaning the seats with a special solution and applying a dye that has been mixed to match the original colour, the seats can become almost new again. Also, the process can hide any nasty marks and camouflage small cuts. The existing seats may suffer from yellow UV bleaching (especially the rear seat). The seats can also become faded and cracked. If the seats are okay but just need some light restoration you can do this whilst they are in the car, however, if they are in a very poor state we recommend removing the seats and carrying out the work in a workshop/house as this will give you more access to all the seat edges.

Club founder Kevin Fagan explains in detail the processes involved in breathing new life into your leather seats. The 3 part process involves a thorough clean (where you remove any existing leather conditioner or sealer), application of the Figaro-coloured Ivory dye and finally sealing in the dye. During the 30-minute video, Kevin demonstrates each process and includes a few useful tips on the way.
