Stories of the Ireland Rally: Home and Away

Colin and Julie standing togetherDuring the Ireland Rally, we had some very special visitors from abroad. Club members Julie and Colin Mahoney met up with us on Tuesday 19th May at our trip to Glendalough. Previously resident in the UK, they now live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, having also lived in Singapore for three years.

They are the proud owners of a Lapis Grey Figaro named Trinny. Julie says,

“I first saw a Nissan Figaro at a car show in Florida and instantly fell in love with it. About a year ago, we found a beautiful example in Florida and had it shipped to lowa. After a lot of care and attention – including a new roof, rear window, and brakes – it’s finally ready for the road. I’m looking forward to driving it, although getting used to the steering wheel being on the “wrong” side may take a little practice!”

They began their trip in Dublin before travelling on to Kilkenny and then to Galway. Julie continued,

“Everyone we met at the show was so friendly and welcoming. We’d especially like to say a big ‘thank you’ to Jo Bolger who shared some excellent advice about Figaros and recommended several wonderful places to visit in Ireland.”

Julie concluded by saying,

“Thank you all once again for making us feel so welcome in the Figaro family. The warmth, friendliness, and enthusiasm of everyone we met made the experience even more special.”
