Ken Charity Fundraises at CarFest 2026

While the club didn’t make it to CarFest this year, Ken attended over the Bank Holiday weekend with Sporting Bears who offer ‘Dream Rides’ to raise money for charity…

I’d done 8 CarFest North events showing our Figs with the Figaro Owners Club, but this was my first visit South, my first with the Sporting Bears and EVERYONE’S first at CarFest, Silverstone!

There were a few teething problems as you’d expect with a new venue but many of these were sorted very quickly. It was clear that the site & infrastructure offered by Silverstone should, hopefully, provide a sustainable home for CarFest over the coming years.

I got the chance to deliver charity dream rides on all 3 days and also some ‘Safari’ rides which Silverstone had asked the Bears to do. This was a 10mph ride behind a safety car on the National Track with an audio commentary from Silverstone. We even got to stop on the starting grid and take photos!!

Over the 3 days of the weekend the ‘Bears’ raised an astonishing £70K for CarFest children’s charities. This brought the total raised by Sporting Bears, over 14 years at CarFest, to over £1 million!!

The evening music was fantastic as usual with Jessie J, Tom Jones and Nile Rogers & Chic headlining the 3 nights with support including Sophie Ellis Bextor, James Morrison and The Proclaimers amongst others!

A huge thank you to Ken for helping raise money for children’s charities throughout the UK with the Sporting Bears.
