Rust
Rust is the biggest killer of Figaros as once it’s taken hold, the cost of repairs often outweighs the value of the car, leading to its demise. The Nissan Figaro was built in 1991, but like many cars of the time, it has suffered from rust corrosion in certain areas of the bodywork. This could be due to a few design flaws, but it is also important to note that the majority of Figaros spent the first 10 years of their life on the wet roads of Japan and the high rainfall levels compared to the UK could have contributed to this corrosion.
To help Figaro owners identify and check for rust, this series highlights the areas that are most vulnerable to it. Additionally, it aims to improve the understanding and knowledge of how rust can form and where to look for it.
