Colour – How to find the original body, trim and cabin colour
As the Figaro was manufactured back in 1991 over the years you may find the car has been resprayed (sometimes twice). If you are buying a Figaro it’s important to find out as much as you can about the history and if any restoration work has been carried out on the car since manufacture.
Below we tell you how you can find the month of manufacture, original body/trim and cabin colour.
- First locate your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) which is printed in the V5 Form and onto the cars Info Plate (see where to look in the picture below). As an example, lets say the number is FK10-004551.
- Now head over to the club’s production database and search using the whole VIN or just the last 6 digits (004551)
You can then find out…
- The month your Figaro was born.
- Where your Figaro came in the 20,073 Figaros produced.
- Whether your Figaro was specified as one of the 786 Cold Weather models.
- Whether your Figaro was one of the 29 mystery* models.
- Whether your Figaro was one of 167 mystery* colours.
- What external colour your Figaro was originally… or whether it was one of mystery* colours.
- How many Figaros of the same colour were made, and how many in the same month!
*Mystery? There were indeed some mystery codes and models that are still unknown… if you find yours is one of these, please get in touch!
OFFICIAL PAPERWORK SHOWING THE ACTUAL BUILD DATE
Members can request an official letter from the club which clarifies the build date. This is sometimes requested when registering the car. We charge £10 and you can apply by email at maintenance@figaroownersclub.com
