Historic Vehicle Gathering Powderham – 11th July 2026
A group of South West Community Figaro Owners enjoyed wall to wall sunshine at the 51st Historic Vehicle Gathering at Powderham Castle on 11 & 12 July 2026.
Our Joint South West Community Co-ordinator, Lynette, tells us all about this recent event.
“The Powderham Show is considered one of the largest in Devon. There were over 200 vehicles in attendance, raising money for local charities. This year there was even a boat you could drive. Organised by the Crash Box and Classics Club, the two day event saw thousands of visitors attend the site to view all kinds of vehicles from veteran to modern classics, and including motorcycles, agricultural, commercial, military and steam vehicles.
“The weather was perfect clear blue skies as far as you could see – in fact it was baking hot but we managed to find shade under a small gazebo (and ended up chasing said shade around as the sun passed over the top of us).
“We were lucky enough to have 5 Figaros in total – with both traditional colours, and a couple of custom. Both Lesley and Philip & Carol brought beautiful examples of Emerald Green, whilst Philip & Sharon came with a Lapis Grey. (Maybe next year it would be wonderful to have the whole set!!) Ray & Mark came with the distinctive black and white Audrey who looked beautiful in the sun, and Rob and I brought up the rear with Florence in all her purple glory.
“On Saturday we indulged in the age old debate as to whether the clotted cream went on top of the jam or underneath on the homemade scones. [Did you reach a conclusion, or should we not ask?! – Ed.]
“Over the two days our stand was extremely popular – Philip and Mark could have sold all our Figaros as well as a few more to prospective members, and a lot of leaflets were handed out. I’m hopeful of lots of new members in the county of Devon as I don’t think we put anyone off!!
“We all agreed that we would love to go again next year and have an even larger stand. It would be great if some of you could join us – keep your eyes peeled on the events page in January as this event always fills up quickly.”
Thank you very much for organising, Lynette. We’re glad you had fun and managed to stay well hydrated!
