Eighth Netherlands Figaro After Summer Tour – 27th September 2026

Joyce and Pascal tell us all about the Eighth Netherlands Figaro After Summer Tour!

I would like to begin by giving you an idea of what a tour weekend looks like for us to organise under normal circumstances. Starting on a Friday, we drive half the tour, checking if everything is still open for the route we wrote a few weeks before. The Saturday is spent checking the second part of the route, preparing goodie bags and other small details, amending the roadbook if needed. Simple.

This weekend was from a different order…… We had included a small ferry just before the end of the day, such a nice idea, a few Figaro’s on the open ferry at the same time…

It was Thursday when the captain of the ferry contacted us, advising the water level was at its lowest for the last 100 years. He had to warn us that the ferry probably wouldn’t be running.

That meant we had to design a new route for 80% of the afternoon. Busy rewriting the route, we then found an important bridge in the morning tour was out of order for maintenance, just for “our” weekend. This was a 20% change in the morning. Against our own rules, a small part of the track had to now be on a highway.

So far, this was the only hiccup, the rest of the Figaro After Summer Tour was great. No rain, only sun, 17 Figaros, 1 sweeper truck, 33 smiling attendants.

This was the eighth edition of the Figaro After Summer Tour that we had organised in the Netherlands. We found a great location to start, a small village called Baak.

The restaurant where we started the tour was called “Nostalgic” and that covers exactly the atmosphere there. What a lovely location. There was a very tasteful apple cake and coffee to start the day with. After a quick test we sent all the Figaros on the road.

Via many small roads they had to find their way to a very nice, former coach house, where a lovely lunch was prepared. Just after lunch we held a small quiz, with questions about the area, Figaros and more.

At the start of the afternoon we held a small photo quiz, with Figaro pictures, some real, some tuned with AI. Very funny to see what people accept as real or are convinced some models are fake but seem to be real.

The finish of the day was in a real Castel.

Although the day is primarily about having a good time, we always include a small competition as part of the tour. This year, the day’s winners could not only take home a beautiful trophy, but the Figaro Owners Club made an annual membership available as a prize.

The winning team was not yet a member of the club but was already thinking about it, so this extra prize was in good hands with the eventual winners, Chris & Inge Scheepers.

We look back on a lovely Figaroday!
