Drive Out Cheshire Run and Lunch – 11th July 2026

North West Community Coordinator, Jane Harrop, tells us all about seven Figaros, four castles and a lovely lunch!

This meet and run out in the Cheshire countryside most certainly ticked all the boxes.

Out of the seven Figs attending, we had one in each of the classic colours, plus a custom wrapped bright Pink Fig called Flossy which belonged to Heidi & Chris.

We met at the Lockgate Coffee House in Beeston where a drink and sit down enabled us to get acquainted with one another and rehydrate, a must, as it was an exceptionally hot and sunny day!

David & Karen in Frankie has very kindly organised us a route called ‘Three Cheshire Castles’, so after our refreshments, we were all raring to get going.

The run, wow! Cheshire countryside it all its glory. We drove through some picture-perfect villages with an array of pretty houses and idyllic gardens, pubs with an abundance of hanging baskets and meandered down some gorgeous country lanes. Particularly memorable were the stunning villages of Tattenhall and Bunbury.

And what about the three castles? Well in actual fact, it turned out that there were four castles: Beeston Castle, Peckforton Castle, Cholmondeley Castle and the extra Bolesworth Castle.

We stopped at Bickerton Hall for a photo shoot before our final destination, Cholmondeley Arms where we all sat together and enjoyed a lovely lunch. The pub was pleased to have hosted us, as they have their own classic car club and came out to take a photo of us with our Figs before we left.

Apart from Kay & her friend Janette in Fig who lived near Tarporley nearly everyone else had a bit of a journey to get to the starting point. From my point a view of organising this event, I was delighted that we had such a good turnout, so thank you to those mentioned above and also to Stephanie & Michael in April, Angela & Dan in Helena and Jo & Scott in Lady Flora (joint co-ordinator for Wales) for making this such a happy & memorable event.

As always at any of these regional meets, new friends are always made and it’s always great to meet up again and that will of course be the Figaro 35th Anniversary Big Birthday Bash!

Thanks so much for organising this Jane!
