Ace Cafe London Meet – Saturday 6th April 2019

Thanks so much for everyone who attended the London Ace Café meet on Saturday. The car park was almost full to the brink with 58 Figs attending some of which had driven from as far afield as Cornwall (Pat Light & Martin Isted), Devon (Lynette Parsons) and Glasgow (Ken Graham).

Part of the day was to raise money for our clubs chosen charity ‘CLIC SARGENT’ and we are delighted to announce that £482 was achieved on the day. To put this into context, that will support family to stay 15 nights at one of our CLIC Sargent Home from Homes – invaluable accommodation close to our care centres to reduce costs, keep families together and reduce the pressure during treatment.

Just before midday we all gathered around the covered up ‘Classic Car Giveaway’ which was parked next to the Figaro Shop Gazebo and counted down for the big reveal at 12:00. Founder Toby Brooks did the honours and there it was, a stunning lapis grey Figaro had lurked below the covers and included a number of unique accessories and additions. From the many people we spoke to on the day this initiative was very well received with one member buying 5 tickets! Although new to our Figaro community this concept is common amongst car groups. According to The Figaro Shop 175 tickets have been sold to date.

At 13:30 we announced the winners of our club awards:

  • Cleanest Engine Bay – J481 EWW – Tracy Hill
  • Furthest Travelled – J31 KHT – Ken Graham (412 Miles)
  • Best Dressed Owner – Belinda Wanless
  • Best Dressed Figaro – FIG 417 – Pete & Sandra Early

This was followed with a raffle with kind donations from Susie Faulks, The Leather Repair Company, Klassic Toyz, The Figaro Shop, Autolink, The Figaro Owners Club, Nic Carracio & Julie Janes. 20 gifts were won by some of lucky members!

Thanks again for all your support we enjoyed meeting up with old friends and making new ones too, see you all again soon.
