Front Windscreen

Although the rear windscreen is no longer available, the good news is the front windscreen (PART NO HT6024LB) is! The part is still being manufactured and available through National Windscreens and The Figaro Shop.

CLASSICLINE INSURANCE WORDING

Members who are insured through our recommended insurance broker Classicline Insurance please see the guide to choosing your fitter

All insurers have favoured suppliers and these suppliers have a direct billing facility so if the insurer concerned uses a glass supplier that has stock then the windscreen replacement is seamless. However, there are supply issues with certain vehicles and if the insurer’s chosen repairer can’t get a screen or piece of glass the onus is on the client to find someone that can supply and fit it. If you own a classic American car you usually have to always do this. The good news for Figaro owners is that they can be a member of a great club that can help out and solve issues for their members and you have managed to do this. As of 27.10.2020, the insurers that we arrange cover with on Nissan Figaros are Ageas, ERS, First Underwriting and KGM. First Underwriting and KGM use Auto windscreens as their approved glass line, Ageas use Auto glass and ERS uses National Windscreens.

So if the policy is with ERS and the owner uses National Windscreens there should not be an issue (as you have mentioned they have access to a stock of Figaro windscreens). If the vehicle is covered by Ageas, KGM or First Underwriting the client must still use the insurer’s glass line to report the issue. If the screen or glass needs replacing and they can not help then the client will have to contact National Windscreens and if they have stock and can replace the glass then the client must arrange for it to be done, pay for it and then pass on the receipt to us and we will ask their insurer to reimburse the client less their excess.

FITTING KNOWLEDGE

The fitting of the windscreen is complicated and if it does need replacing we urge you to insure that the fitter is familiar with the Nissan fitting guide (see below) as parts of the trim need to be carefully removed and replaced.
