Jörg – Why I love my Figaro
You may remember back at the start of April we shared the story of cigar smoking club member, Winnie Kirk-Brae, who had developed an additive for the Figaro which would combat the ethanol issues, improve fuel economy and convert the exhaust fumes into little pink hearts!
Many people spotted the publication date – April Fools Day – and didn’t get taken in, but others responded to the “special offer” and explained why they should receive one of 20 free bottles! We decided it would be great to follow up on some of these responses to find out a bit more about why people love their Figs so much and what makes them special.
Jörg – our German Community Chapter co-ordinator – was a great sport and immediately jumped at the chance to tell us what makes his Fig so special.
In his Lovative response, Jörg said,
“As a proud Nissan Figaro owner from the German Chapter of the club, I share the same passion for preserving these charming cars as our friends in the UK. Access to low-ethanol fuel can be just as challenging here, so a thoughtful additive like this would be truly valuable. The idea of improving engine health while spreading a bit of Figaro magic with those delightful pink hearts is simply irresistible. It would be a joy to represent this spirit beyond Britain and share it with fellow enthusiasts on the continent. I would be absolutely thrilled to try this unique and imaginative creation.”
Sorry for the prank, Jörg, but if it had been real you definitely would have received a bottle!
Jörg is the proud owner of an Emerald Green Figaro which has so far remained nameless, though it is very much loved and part of the family! He tells us more below:
When did you get your Figaro?
It’s actually a bit of a story. I first saw a pink Figaro on the streets of London back in 2015 and instantly fell for it — but finding out anything about the car in Germany turned out to be surprisingly difficult. I kept digging until I finally found a classic car dealer in Germany who specialised in Triumphs but happened to have three Figaros in stock. I couldn’t resist: my beloved Triumph Spitfire went to him in exchange for a Figaro in Emerald Green. That was in 2017, and I’ve never looked back.
What first appealed to you about the Figaro?
The classic shape paired with Japanese engineering and reliability. And then there’s the charm — it’s the kind of car that turns every petrol stop into a friendly chat with a stranger.
What is your favourite Figaro feature?
Its positive aura and charming character, honestly. It just makes people smile.
Have you done anything unusual with or because of your Figaro?
Mainly through the community side of things. I’ve been Community Chapter Coordinator for Germany since 2022 — we’re a small group of chapter members who plan activities together, and since 2022 we’ve made sure there are regular meetups. That’s really the whole point and the fun of it: creating shared experiences together.
Is there anything you would change about your Figaro?
Not a thing.
Why should someone buy a Figaro?
Because it opens the door to so many positive encounters, and to becoming part of a wonderful international community of genuinely likeable Figaro owners.
Thanks so much for sharing your enthusiasm for your Figaro, Jörg!
