USA New Hope Automobile Show – 10th August 2025

Organised by Kristy Firestone, Words by Sal Monopoli (Emerald Green Figaro).

So what is cuter than a Nissan Figaro, you ask? How about 5 Figaros! That’s how many adorable Figaros showed up at the annual New Hope, Pennsylvania, auto show on Sunday, August 10th. A record number for the Northeast!!

The New Hope show is well-known and highly attended, having originated in 1957. For the math-challenged, that’s 68 years. All proceeds are used by New Hope to fund local community organisations and charities. Registrants arrive from far and wide to attend the two-day show. Saturday is Domestic day, and Sunday is Import day.

Figaro owners Kristy & Brent Firestone, Craig & Lisa Gallun, Scott Weaner, Sal Monopoli and Joseph Fengler & Carrie Baker attended the show, arriving from as close as Yardley (Sal, Craig & Lisa, Scott), and as far (well, not that far) as Washington D.C. (Joseph & Carrie). Kristy & Brent were the tweeners, travelling from the Lancaster, Pennsylvania region.

Craig and Kristy were the force behind the “record-setting” Northeast Figaro gathering, recruiting the rest of us in a show of Figaro ‘solidarity.’ On a lovely Sunday morning, once we had each arrived and parked side by side, we formed a circle of foldable chairs under a shade tree. Between chatting, getting acquainted and sharing a laugh or two, we traded turns answering questions from our collective, adoring public. As owners well know, Figaros attract a large, curious crowd.

At the end of the day, when the awards were handed out, our very own Craig & Lisa took home a ribbon for their Lapis Grey beauty for 3rd place, and Sal’s little Emerald Green cutie-pie took 2nd place. While we improved our numbers from last year, we’d love to have a showing of a dozen Figgys to take the overall U.S. showing (at least that appears to be the current high water line figure! Happy motoring, everyone!
