Jane Ellison-Bates Figaro named ‘Primrose’ featured as cameo car at ‘Big Yellow Car Show’

Yorkshire chapter Figaro owner Jane Ellison-Bates was thrilled that the editor of Classic Car Weekly picked out Primrose to feature as the cameo car in his editorial piece about the first-ever Big Yellow Car Show this summer. Her registration number was also among the few to be featured on the commemorative T-shirt.

The event was held at the Royal Cheshire County Showground on July 5th-6th, so Jane and Mark took their campervan along to make a weekend of it.

It was touch and go whether Prim would make it to the show, as just three weeks beforehand, a skip-lorry reversed down the side of her, crumpling the driver’s door and rear wing. Fortunately, everyone involved was fantastic in pulling out the stops: Blackburn Skips, their insurance company Aviva, who were brilliant in fast-tracking the claim and Carmeleon in Keighley (Prim’s bodyshop of choice) for fitting her in and going the extra mile on the job, getting her ready just in time for collection the day before the show!

Jane says, “When we arrived at the showground, we were given a category card with directions on where to park. It said Vintage & Classic. We weren’t sure if that meant me or Primrose.”

Despite the showery weather, a good time was had by all.
