Rear Window Panel – How to recover on a Nissan Figaro Video

Over the years the rear panel can suffer from unsightly rust bubbles and fade. The Vinyl has a limited life especially if the car is subject to constant UV or bad weather. Club founder Kevin Fagan explains in detail the stages required to re-cover the rear window panel with new vinyl.

IMPORTANT – MAKE SURE THE COLOUR MATCHES!
When buying the vinyl make sure it is going to match your existing roof! Typically they are supplied in WK3 (off-white) or White. WK3 is the colour that Nissan used to paint the roof, polo hubcaps and wing mirrors. If your Figaro has had it roof changed it may have been done in white so you need to buy white vinyl.

Allow around 6/8 hours to carry out the work. Before you commence you will require the following items.

– £30 – £50 Vinyl (Website ‘Info’ then ‘Parts & Services)
– £10 – Tiger Seal
– £15 – Evo-Stik
– Gloves
– Masking Tape

Below are the 25 stages and a video that we hope will inspire owners to take on the project themselves.

WATCH THE VIDEO
The video shows you how to remove the rear panel and old vinyl, take out the window and remove the rubber seal. Then prepare the panel and glue the new vinyl back in place. Re-install the window and seal then install back into the car. Full of tips and helpful suggestions and with a running time just shy of 45 minutes it’s the longest and most comprehensive video we’ve produced to date.

To carry out the project you will require to purchase the vinyl (see our Website ‘Info’ then ‘Parts & Services), plus Tiger Seal, Evo-stik, Gloves and Masking Tape. We hope it will inspire owners to take on the project themselves.
