Figgys and Chat at Ace Cafe London – 24th October 2026

Despite the arrival of Storm Austen bringing wet and windy conditions in Southern England and Storm Boelo getting ready to make its presence known, members refused to let the weather dampen their spirits as they gathered at the legendary Ace Cafe on Saturday 24th October for a spooktacular event.

The Halloween-themed Figgys and Chat event once again proved that a little rain is no match for the enthusiasm of our members who travelled from near and far, braving challenging driving conditions to spend an afternoon surrounded by Figaros, good friends more than one very large spider and a strange looking bear.

The Ace Cafe car park was soon displaying Figaros, decorated for the occasion, with members embracing the Halloween theme with some wonderfully creative costumes and cars.

As with many Figaro Owners Club events, a little friendly competition added to the fun. Prizes were awarded for categories including Spookiest Figaro, Spookiest Member, Shortest and Furthest Distance Travelled, Longest and Newest members – recognising both the creativity and dedication of those who took part.

A further highlight from the day was that Jacob from Madon Figaro Club joined us. Drawing on years of specialist Figaro experience and sharing valuable knowledge with members on a range of topics, including restoration projects, sourcing and reconditioning parts, and keeping these unique vehicles in top condition. Jacob’s expertise was greatly appreciated by owners as he was able to look at door frames for switches and answer questions about , “Why does my car make this noise?” or in one case, “Why does the steering wheel shake like this?” (difficult to describe the movement with words but if you were there you can probably picture it).

While the weather outside was far from seasonal perfection, the warmth of the Figaro community shone through. Members enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with old friends, meet new owners and share stories about their cars, proving once again that the club is about much more than just the vehicles themselves. Although Storm Austen provided an unexpected backdrop, it certainly did not stop the event from being a success. The day was filled with knowledge, laughter, friendship although all agreed that the next Ace Cafe event needs to be in the summer.
