Father’s Day Classic Car and Motor Show At Castle Howard – 15th June 2025

The 15th of June was Father’s Day, and it was the ideal opportunity for car parents of many pampered vehicles to show off their garage projects. Castle Howard, just north of York, was the perfect location to exhibit these shiny specimens. Attendees and exhibitors to the motor show could also enjoy the extensive grounds and gardens. (The setting for many scenes from the Brideshead Revisited TV series from 1981).

The Figaro contingent was modest, with only four vehicles, but, as usual, they attracted lots of attention, and we had numerous conversations with the public about our quirky little cars. Some of our club members, Katie and her mum, Mel, had travelled from close to Birmingham and had attended another get-together on the Saturday, on their way up to North Yorkshire. Katie’s enthusiasm for her Figaro is infectious, and you can follow her and her car Lady on Instagram at @ladyfigaro91.

Anna and Gordon joined us from the North West Chapter, and they were definitely the most prepared for the day. They produced a tent, chairs, a camping stove and enjoyed bacon buns for their breakfast.

Then we had Kaveh and Kassia – the go-to couple if you need any advice about any mechanical and even cosmetic issues. And lastly, Paul and I in my Topaz Mist girl called Bella. We were just there, enjoying the cars, the sunshine and the scenery.

So, for anyone planning to visit North Yorkshire, a stop at Castle Howard is highly recommended – especially on a glorious summer’s day!
