CarFest – 21st to 25th August 2025

CarFest is a tremendous family-oriented festival that encompasses music, crafts, food… and, of course, cars. For the last 14 years, this charity fundraising event has taken place at Laverstoke Park Farm near Basingstoke. However, 2025 is a momentous year, as this will be the last time the event is held here, following the sale of the land and the switch to Silverstone from next year.

So, this year was going to be quite sad as regular visitors would miss the locality and the warmth of the local community.

Figaro Owners Club has supported CarFest for many years, so it was great to be back again. As usual, we all met for dinner on Thursday night, which is always a great way for members to meet, some of whom were meeting for the first time.

Alongside gift packs we had put together, The Figaro Shop had kindly donated some refurbished polos, which we raffled off, which meant that altogether the club raised £300 for CarFest this year, beating last year’s total.

The event itself is such a joyous occasion with lots of good vibes and friendliness. This year was no exception – while it didn’t feel quite as busy as it had in past years, there was a steady stream of visitors. Huge thanks to our club members who made our visitors feel so very welcome, and for all the efforts on our “British Picnic” stand theme!

There are a number of events throughout the weekend which we can enjoy as members – there is the drive out for some of the cars to thank the locals with a car parade, which, of course, was a particularly poignant goodbye. And we also have a track parade for the rest of the cars, where members get to drive around the track and burn a bit of rubber (no more than normal, but the thought’s there!). And in between, there’s Fancy Dress Sunday, meeting celebrities on the stand, and of course, enjoying the rest of the event. This year’s acts included Busted, Rita Ora, Lightning Seeds, Travis, Boomtown Rats, Squeeze… and the crowning glory of the weekend was Madness, who were absolutely amazing.

We have loved CarFest at Laverstoke Park… next year it moves to Silverstone – we are sure that it will do everything it can to retain the family-friendly, charity fundraising, and fun reputation it has built up over many years.
