A Festive Story from Figaro Owners Club
Well, what a wonderful year it’s been.
We’ve very much enjoyed sharing it with you for the Figaro Owners Club and wanted to share some highlights!
For a start, we’ve published so many articles and so many stories on the website, there’s almost too much to mention!
We published articles about keys, early concept drawings, cup holders, fog lights, decals, the luggage rack, window faults, changing the interior courtesy light bulbs, trimming the brake light bar with leather, 10 tips on storing your car and 18 downloadable fact leaflets, the latest electric Figaro conversion and updates to the website.
Not only that, but we celebrated our 5,000th member, and welcomed hundreds of members at nearly 40 events, not least the fantastic Isle of Man Festival in September which was truly memorable.
We also heard from some of our members – Jaymes, Emma, Jane, Alan, Ken and Mary told us wonderful stories of Figgy love… and we shared the news of Kevin and Sue’s retirement from and future plans for the Figaro Owners Club. And here we are, your new Committee, honouring the legacy of this wonderful friendly club that Kevin and Sue founded in love.
And next year we celebrate the car’s 35th anniversary! We have the Ireland trip to look forward to, and yes, the 35th Big Birthday Bash! We had hoped to be able to announce more details before now, but have been busy getting things finalised with the venue, but have run into a few delays – as soon as we can, we will look to announce everything very very soon! So watch this space!
In the meantime, we wanted to bring you some special Christmas messages from your new Club Committee, all about Christmas and what it means!
Claire shared a lovely Merry Figmas Figaro hanging on her tree and said
“Happy Christmas to all our members, volunteers and their Figgy’s.
My photo is of a Figaro Christmas decoration as it reminds me of the little things that keep our cars close when they are sometimes tucked up for winter.”
Dennis shared a photo of his Figaro in the snow…
“Before Doly was restored on the outside we used her in the winter too. The heated seats and heater directed at our feet, meant, that if we were wrapped up properly, we could cruise on a sunny day at any temperature above 5 degrees C”
Pete shared two photos – one of him looking very seasonal in a Santa hat with reindeers. He said
“Reindeer. Check. Red hat. Check. White beard. Check. Lapland. Check. I am basically Santa.”
And the other was from the same holiday…
“Our first family holiday to the home of Santa in Lapland. Our snowmobile safari included some photo opportunities for the Mini Fig.”
Kate said…
“I was going to use the one that Pete sent of the Fig in the snow, but he beat me to it! I think this one is quite nice instead though. This is a small Nativity scene that has started growing semi organically on my windowsill. The manger scene was a gift from my parents, and when I put it on
the windowsill, other things seemed to gather around it to become part of the scene. The parts of the three wise men are played by Christmas spirits from the Christmas Imaginarium. I’m not sure what role the Fig is playing, but it definitely wanted in.”
While Lukas shared a photo of our Christmas Tree …
“I love the Christmas trees and from my youth I’ve always been fascinated with the lights. While our tree was always quite big and I was only small, I spent long hours under it staring into space. Now I’m probably too big to do this, so I leave this space for our cats! I’m looking forward to putting on some extra pounds, as we can’t have enough of the Christmas food!
And finally, Rachel and Mark added their own photo of the top of their Christmas Tree
“We often take time when we decorate our tree to think of loved ones – and this year was no different as we put Mark’s grandmother’s fairy of the tree so that she looks down on us. If we could fit our Figgy family member Audrey on the tree she would be taking prime position but as she would not fit in the living room our mini version takes pride of place instead.”
What lovely messages and stories of Christmas… we all met with Christmas garb for a last Committee Meeting of the year and wanted to wish you all festive greetings of a Merry Figmas!
And from me, I just wanted to say thank you, thanks to our members, to all our volunteers including Simon, the chapter coordinators and the committee, and of course, the broader community.
May your Christmas be filled with joy, laughter, and the warmth of loved ones. We hope you find moments of peace and happiness and wish you the Happiest of New Years!
Take care and see you next year! Beep Beep!!
