Rare Figaros – what the Production Database tells us
Figaro Owners have been loving being able to find out more about their car from the Production Database available here on our website.
From these stats we can see how rare certain cars are… which car colour had the fewest cold weather model? How many special models were there? When did production peak?
In order of production – least to most, we have listed all the stats per month we have established so far over in this article “Production Database Statistics”.
From these stats we can see how rare certain cars are:
Cold Weather Models
- Topaz Mist Cold Weather models of which there were just 89.
- Cold weather models were rare… oddly only one was made in December 1991.
“Special” and “Mystery” Models
- “Special” model code cars – 10 in total
- 4 Pale Aqua and 6 Emerald Green
- No Topaz and no Lapis
- We still don’t know what the “Special Model” means.
- Even rarer is the “Mystery” model… a mystery because we are yet to discover what it was.
- Considering they were in the first month, we would guess these “Mystery” models were used for promotional purposes!
- But then, while there were just 4 Mystery Models, they weren’t in each colour – 1 Aqua, 1 Topaz, 2 Emerald, no Lapis.
Other Production Stats Insights
The production statistics provide other insights too – is it that the initial colours produced were based on what they thought would be popular, only later having to ramp up production of certain colours according to demand? Or perhaps that the later cars produced based on a colour that was least unpopular?
It’s interesting to see the peak of production in a particular colour was 1,140 Lapis Grey in the November, exceeding October’s 1,088 for the same colour, and exceeding the 1,016 Emerald Green in the February.
