After last year’s hugely popular and enjoyable trip to the Jurassic Coast, organised by our member Pete Berry, we thought it would be lovely to revisit one of the highlights of the day – Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens – for a relaxed coffee and catch up.
The coffee shop is free to enter, and it’s a great spot for cake, conversation and a gentle start to the morning. Many of us wanted to explore the gardens last year, but with so much packed into the day, time simply wasn’t on our side. This time, we’re giving everyone the chance to enjoy both: a relaxed social meet up, and for those who wish to stay on, a leisurely wander through the gardens.
Entry to the gardens is £7, and they are well worth a visit. Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens is a renowned 30 acre valley garden established in 1765, known for its unique microclimate that nurtures rare, exotic and subtropical plants. Expect towering tree ferns, Gunnera, camellias, woodland walks and a Mediterranean style garden – all set in a sheltered, peaceful landscape. It’s also dog friendly, making it a perfect outing for everyone.
This meet up offers a relaxed way to reconnect, enjoy a beautiful setting and revisit a favourite stop from last year’s fantastic adventure.
