Figgys and Chat at Churchill Tree Pub – 21st June 2025

Ange & Dan in Helena were first to arrive at the Churchill Tree Pub located in the historical grounds of Alderley Park in Cheshire, followed by me with Bob & Sam in Figgy. Next to join us were Janet & Peter who shimmered into the car park in their beautiful metallic painted Fig called Rainbow and not too long afterwards came Karen & David in Frankie.

We were able to enjoy our breakfast and chat sat outside in the courtyard, but we all had a peep inside the bar area of the pub, which was formerly used as a ballroom when it was built in 1907 by the wealthy Alderley Edge Stanley family. During WW2, it was used as a hospital and over the years it has had various other uses. Most recently, it has been lovingly restored and retains its original splendour.

After a few photos in the car park, we drove in convoy along the pretty Cheshire country lanes, although we did have to make a quick stop to put our roofs up following a few spots of rain. On the drive down to the UK’s largest radio telescope, Jodrell Bank, we were lucky enough to be able to stop and take a photo of the telescope in its full glory, together with our lovely Figaro’s.

We then drove through the attractive rural village of Goostry onto Holmes Chapel and Bidlea Dairy, where we all treated ourselves to one of their delicious ice creams, made on site from the milk from their award-winning Holstein-Fresian cows

The breakfast meet proved very successful and who doesn’t love an ice cream afterwards? A very enjoyable get together for everyone who attended!
