Nissan Figaro – Cold Weather Model

The Nissan Figaro was sold all over Japan and being a country of vast temperature differences between North and South, approximately 1000 of the manufactured units were classed as “cold weather” versions.

In Japan, a “cold region” is identified as an area in which the temperature can fall below -20 degrees C. 786 Figaros were manufactured for “Cold Weather” and had different brake distribution valves and tyres for example to cope with the colder conditions.

Only 786 cold region cars were produced. The way of telling whether yours is a cold region or not is by looking at your VIN plate. If the model code ends with ‘TZA’, then you’ve got yourself an extremely rare vehicle. The beginning of the model code may be slightly different, but it’ll definitely have ‘…..TZA’ at the end if you have a cold region vehicle.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR THE FIGARO

The following are what we understand to be the differences:

larger heater matrix
higher kilowatt starter motor
higher capacity battery
different tyres – 155×12
didn’t come with air conditioning (but this could be added)

These versions were identified by the use of a decal on the rear window and we have been fortunate enough to secure a limited number of these original decals to replace an old, worn or faded item.

Easy to apply, ensure that the surface that it is being adhered to is clinically clean using a glass cleaner or IPA. Peel the backing and slowly stick it in place ensuring not to trap any air bubbles in the process.
