THURSDAY 1ST JUNE

3pm – Tour of Skipton Castle
Join us for the first meet of the rally as we visit Skipton Castle, a magnificently preserved medieval fortress. Free parking (usually £2.50) has been arranged at the adjacent Bailey car park and discounted entry will include private guided tour – appx 1.5 hours, led by a classic car enthusiast, historian and local wit, plus tea/coffee and cake in the tearoom. (NB – original quoted cost for this was £14.90).
£10 per head – Select number of vouchers 1 or 2

7pm – Canal boat trip on Leeds/Liverpool canal from The Rendezvous to Skipton
The Rendezvous sits on the banks of the Leeds-Liverpool canal. We’ve paid a deposit and reserved The Dalesman and The Endeavour, two beautiful broad beam barges so that you can enjoy an evening cruise into Skipton and back. Or you can cruise one way and walk back along the towpath later, stopping off at Skipton’s famous fish n chip shop Bizzie Lizzie’s for tea or a pint or two of Yorkshire ale in one of Skipton’s many pubs such as the Woolly Sheep or The Narrowboat.
£8 per head – Select number of vouchers 1 or 2

FRIDAY 2ND JUNE

Morning coffee – The Riverbank Coffee Hut in Burnsall
For our first stop in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, we’ve arranged free parking, tea/coffee and homemade cake to be ready and waiting alongside the River Wharfe at this most stunning location for a car park.
£3 per head Select number of vouchers 1 or 2

2pm – 3pm – (3 OPTIONS AVAILABLE – PLEASE CHOOSE A/B or C)
There are three options to choose from for the middle part of Friday before we reconvene in the afternoon. At a push you may be able to combine two, but stick to one for a more leisurely experience. After the rally arrives en masse at Stump Cross Caverns at midday, choose between:

Option A – Stump Cross Caverns
Learn to know your stalagmites from your stalactites in the eerie underground world that lies beneath the stunning Dales scenery. Discovered by lead miners in 1860, the formation of Stump Cross Caverns began millions of years ago, when the Yorkshire Dales were covered by an ocean! Access to the cave is via 65 steps, with hand rails on both sides and you’ll be glad of your hard hats when you’ve clonked your heads a few times like we did on the recce. We’ve arranged a group rate.
Allow 45 minutes below ground with an optional 20 minute video before or after. There’s a café here if you’re peckish, but don’t forget afternoon tea is at 3pm.
£6.50 per head Select number of vouchers 1 or 2

Option B – Coldstones Cut
At the opposite extreme to that underground adventure, only a mile or so on from Stump Cross Caverns, just over Greenhow Hill into Nidderdale, you can enjoy a real high point of the rally. Perched at 1375 feet above sea level, Yorkshire’s biggest and highest public artwork is most definitely worth the 500m walk from the car park (ascending 40m) for the panoramic views alone. There is no charge for visiting Coldstones Cut, but we do ask that you please support the honesty box in the car park as we’ve arranged specially with the parish council to reserve the car park for our fabulous Figs. Allow an hour for your visit, taking in the adjacent Toft Gate Lime Kiln.
If we’re unlucky with the weather this may be one to miss, however, as it could be cold and bleak and you wouldn’t see much, but on a clear day it’s truly exhilarating. It’s June and Yorkshire…what can I say?
NB – no refreshments or toilets here, so if you need something before we reconvene for afternoon tea at 3pm at Bolton Abbey, you can head back to Stump Cross or mosey down to the pub(s) in Appletreewick.
Free Admission/Parking

3pm – The Cavendish Pavilion / Bolton Abbey
Parking (entry) to the Bolton Abbey Estate is usually £8, but we’ve negotiated a fantastic deal so that we can gain admission and parking to regroup the rally here at 3pm to all enjoy a cream tea together at The Cavendish Pavilion, all in for just £6.95 per head in total. You can then explore the estate for the rest of the afternoon, before we head back to The Rendezvous for the rally dinner.
£6.95 per head Select number of vouchers 1 or 2

SATURDAY 3RD JUNE

Morning coffee stop – Café by the Lake at Kilnsey Park
We’ve arranged for tea/coffee/soft drink + cake to be ready when we arrive, with reserved parking and access to the lake / park facilities at this stunning spot beneath the iconic Kilnsey Crag.
NB – depending on time, you may wish to pay an additional £2.50 (on the day) to access the nature trail to see red squirrels and orchids.
£4 per head Select number of vouchers 1 or 2

12pm – The Forbidden Corner
Our slot is reserved at this booking-only magical destination which is sure to be a highlight of your holiday. We want to avoid spoilers, but promise you that The Forbidden Corner is a unique and uplifting experience, and a worthy winner of best tourist attraction in the White Rose (Yorkshire tourism) awards.
We’ve arranged reserved parking for our Figs and the group entry rate of £11 per head will be worth every penny, we’re sure.
£11 per head Select number of vouchers 1 or 2

1.30pm – Lunch in the Bell Barn at The Saddle Room (adjacent The Forbidden Corner)
The Saddle Room is a popular Coverdale dining destination in its own right. The café next door at the Forbidden Corner cannot accommodate our numbers, so we’ve booked The Bell Barn here with seasonal soup and mixed sandwiches ready and waiting for us, so that we can enjoy lunch together without the stress of long queues or waiting to be served. We really enjoyed our recce here!
£10 per head Select number of vouchers 1 or 2

SUNDAY 4TH JUNE

Morning coffee – High Trenhouse, Malham Moor
After your little Fig has climbed out of Wharfedale and Littondale onto the wildness of Malham Moor you’ll be delighted to find this lovely retreat hidden in the middle of nowhere. Hospitality is always spot on here, as is the baking.
Tea, coffee and cake will be laid out in the Northend dining room, so you can help yourselves and walk through and sit outside or in the bar and conservatory.
£3.50 per head Select number of vouchers 1 or 2

8.30pm – Supper in the Bar – The Rendezvous
And finally, as we gather in the hotel bar for an evening of relaxed fun, frivolity and farewells including a rally quiz, we have arranged for a wonderful northern speciality to be laid on for our victuals to complete your Yorkshire Dales education – a Pie and Pea Supper. Not to be missed.
£5 per head – This option can be ordered at a later date
