The Figaro Shop Open House – Sunday 14th May 2017

Organised by The Figaro Shop this event took place on Sunday 14th May 2017.

It’s not often you get the chance to look under the Figaro in the company of experts! Over 50 owners jumped at the opportunity to learn more about their cars. The event included unrestricted access to their workshops and details lectures on Bodywork, Engines and Parts.

After everyone parked up and helped themselves to coffee/tea the tour begun. We were spit up into 3 groups, allowing each group to be smaller and move to each area in order. Although we were there for over 2 hours, the time just seemed to fly. Led by Body Shop Office Manager Kelton McDonald our group (1), learnt the process involved in preparing and repainting the car. This was followed by Workshop Manager Richard Sparrow who talked extensively about how they rebuild the engine. With all the parts neatly laid up on a table it was a real education and very useful to at last know what’s involved in a cam-belt change. Lastly, it was the turn of General Manager Danny Smith who talked us through all the parts that are available and more importantly, no longer available and how The Figaro Shop are manufacturing items to fill that gap. The tour ended with the unveiling (drum roll) of a customers car. The vehicle, dripping in polished chrome and shiny paintwork was just stunning and brought together the combination of different skills on offer from this rather unique business. And just when we thought the day couldn’t get any better, a figgy convoy to a country house was the cherry on the top!

We would like to express our thanks to Toby and his team for a brilliant day out.

Enjoy just a flavour of the day below
