CarFest North – Friday 22nd/Sunday 24th August 2014

We had 5 vehicles on display, 3 Lapis Grey, 1 Emerald Green and 1 Topaz Mist. Despite the torrential rain on Friday and Saturday we still managed to get plenty of attention and had many visitors to our stand.

This show has something for everyone, on the track they had Chris Evans Magnificent 7, Classic Race cars, American Muscle cars, Hotrods, Movie cars and novelty cars. The Owners Club stands included the Delorian, Morgan, VW Karman Ghia and many more. If you wanted to sit back and relax for a while you could go and watch the music on the live stage. There was something for everyone from Erasure to Scouting for Girls, 10CC to Bootleg Beetles. The atmosphere around the live stage was fantastic, people of all ages enjoying the music and getting into the festival spirit.

Our team of exhibitors were constantly busy throughout the weekend answering questions, with more interest shown in our cars than in any of the other display groups (including Morgans, Maseratis & Aston Martins) – well let’s face it, what could you possibly want to know about a Sierra Cosworth unless you were a complete petrolhead? By the end of the weekend, we reckoned we’d had so much interest we could have sold upwards of 30 cars if we’d had any to spare. The sun shone all day on Sunday which allowed us to put the tops down and show the cars at their best. As an unexpected bonus we were invited to drive in the parade of club cars round the Oulton Park circuit in the morning.

Thanks to Jon Hunt for helping with the organisation, Alan Harvey & Ken Graham for text and pics
